Eleanor, who was already standing in a space full of flames, lost consciousness due to the unbearable heat. The heat was hot enough to evaporate all her tears. However, it was this sizzling heat that made her stop. She had no choice but to run until the sadness goes away. The only memory she could keep was an awkward picture taken with the boy who came to cover the soccer team. Can’t believe I barely mentioned Sussex – perhaps they’re somehow so close that I overlooked them? Probably just interview nerves. The reason Eleanor, a passionate girl, was running in tears was because a senior boy who she had a crush on was planning to study abroad. Implementing the ideas with Sussex week upon week, developing some ideas and throwing others out, and seeing how the teams perform against the others in the region and the country year upon year has kept the ideas fresh and allowed them to mature far beyond theory, to a point where I’m confident enough to produce videos on them. Without training that club and running those sessions, a lot of the hex/flex stuff would still be theoretical and very untested. I’m still scratching my head wondering how, when Ravi asked about teams that adopted hex/flex, I completely failed to mention the Sussex Uni club I’ve been coaching for 17 years, and who won Nationals in 2010, 2011, 2017 & 2019.
